Yesterday I was able to reach the proprietor, Sandy Lerner, while she was in a nearby shop. She didn't have the bible within sight, but roughly estimated that it was medium-size, about 6 inches high by 2 1/2 by 4 inches. She purchased it about 10 years ago from a man in Smokin Hole, WV. (Could that be the Smoke Hole region of WV which includes parts of Grant and Pendleton Cos.?) She hasn't had the chance to closely examine the vital data, but thought that the earliest date was about 1874. It is still available for sale at her shop in Ellicott City, MD. Strange that I'm from San Francisco but visited those shops last Oct. (although the bible was placed for sale just a few weeks ago).
