Does anyone know the parents of Bert or Robert Ensminger? He was born 12 Jan 1885 according to his WWI registration (with his name indexed incorrectly on ancestry as ensininger). At the time he was married to Julia, whom he soon divorced. In 1920 he lived in Los Angeles alone and said he was born in Kansas. He was an actor in several movies ("The Climber" 1917, "The Girl Angle" (1917) and also a director of a number of movies in the late teens and early '20s ("One Stolen Night" 1923, is the last one). There are no credits after 1923 and I can't find him in 1930, so he may have died. I'm wondering if he could be the son of John F. and Hattie Hoffman Ensminger. Any information will be appreciated.
