I think I have it figured out now. Jane Ensley, daughter of William Grant Ensley and Judith Lokey, was a cousin to her husband John Ensley.
John was the son of James Ensley and Elizabeth Louise Brown.
John is aka John Bradley Ensley.
John's and Jane's common ancestors are therefore John Endsley and Hannah Cain.
John Endsley and Hannah Cain are my 4th GGP's.
John Ensley is my 1C4R. Jane Ensley is my 2GGA.
I descend from Jane's brother, John Bailey Ensley and his wife Cynthia Messer, of whom I have a photo. I also have a photocopy of John Endsley's marriage bond to Hannah Cain, bearing his signature. Let me know if you'd like me to email them to you.
