Ensley Family Genealogy Forum

Our family has in our keeping an oral history of a line of the Ensley family from North Carolina and Georgia through the 1850s for several generations. It has a lot of rich detail that I've been enjoying. It is all typed, but I am currently trying to transcrib it into an electronic media, so I can share it with others. It is about 150 pages long, and it is incomplete. Before it came to my family several pages seemed to have been ripped out, so we are missing the end of the story that was imparted.
It starts with John Gilead Long and Martha Caroline Johnson. It continues with one of their daughters Elizabeth Lois Long marrying Sam Ensley. I am only a fraction through the story, but it also has some original poetry in it. I think the author of the poetry was my great-grandmother Lula Mae Ensley. I am not certain that she typed out the history though. I think that might have been the work of one of my grandmother's cousins.
(Joe Turner, from our conversations so far I expect you'd be interested in this, so I will keep you apprised of my progress and share along the way, but perhaps a copy of the text has made its way to you already through other relatives.)
