I found Ludwig in NY. In the 1790 Census. I emailed the county cordinater for information. There was not much. I do not know how he is related to my line. You might also find him listed on the Ensell web site. It is Xoom.com/members/ensell. We really do not have much information on him. There were several Ensell's who came over to the colonies before the Reveloution. The line we are currently pursuing came over around 1796.

Where did Ludwig come from? Was it England or Germany?
