You are correct of course Rachelle. Enriquez is a Sephardic name. Regarding acceptance, I understand the positions of the Rabbis you speak of has softened. What many Rabbis want is a conversion process. While this is not my forte, the purpose is to purge non jewish religious practices and thoughts from those who have lived under the influence of other religions over the past 500+ years.
