Rick,

I believe that this Frances 'Fanny' Thompson may have been the daughter or grand daughter of one of the sons of Gen. William Thompson of Penn (my direct decendent). I came across a document in the archives of Cumberland Co., Penn that showed a Fanny Thompson to be the soul heir and executrix to his estate. She was granted a partial pension by Congress in lieu of his military service as a Brig Gen in the Revolutionary War. I can't be sure that your Fanny Thompson and mine are one in the same but it is worth a look.
