Hi!
It is on Arkansas 166 between Current View & Maynard. We are listed in 1850 Marshall Co., TN and 1860 Obion Co., TN.In 1870 the first 165 families of Ripley Co., MO is missing the Innis's may have been in that misplaced or confused group!
Yes, the 1850Lafayette Co., MO Census that you quoted was Dicey Givens husband Cornelius Ennis with his 3rd or 4th or whatever wife!
George Riley & John C. Ennis were his sons by Dicey. His Carpenter Work Journal is within the family of George Riley Innis. It tells about materials and cost for his projects. It tells that the Family moved from VA to Mercer Co., KY in 1806 and then to Warren Co., KY in 1807! That his birthdate was 1797.Therefore he would be a son of Mary Francis (Franky) Campbell who married George Washington Ennis 1794 in Amherst VA.Franky as a girls name was used in our section of the family.I also have an Uncle named Francis Loran Parrish.
How the work journal was acquire was one of the great Ennis tales! If Cornelius died in Randolph Co., AR with us it was in the 1870's and he will beburied in the Pittman Cem.
Cornelius had two children by Mary "Polly" Johnson that he married in 1817 in Warren Co., TN.In 1820 she is listed as Polly Enos in Summer Co., TN and is 1830 as Mary Ennis inSummer Co., TN.George Washington Ennis b. 1819 could have been one of those children. Some of the folks in the Givens group said he was the youngest son of George Ennis of Warren Co., KY.The old man George had a son named that but do not know his age!
When I looked at the Family ca. 1985 I did not sit them all together.I just dealt George Riley Ennis group of Randloph Co.,& Clay Co., AR and the ones of us in Butler Co., MO.There were Innis in a number of Arkansas Counties nearby, as well as Ripley and Carter Co., MO that I am sure were cousins.
Who are you in the group?I am Annette (Atwell) Epps granddaughter of Bertha (Innis) Parrish (b. 1893 Clay Co., AR -d. 1969 Butler Co., MO)
I will get the group better organized and let you all laugh and cry with us!
