Bonnie, my g-grandfather was Lovett Ennis.
Someone was questing the Whitmans buried in
the Ennis Cemetary. Maybe I can explain.
Lovett Ennis and Nancy Whitman had a child
John Daniel- born 5-28-1864. I don't know if
this was between the death of his wife Polly
or not but anyway he never married Nancy so
she gave the son John Daniel her maiden name
which was Whitman. So his name was John Daniel Whitman. Lovett and John Daniel had a
good relationship because John Daniel and
his wife Catherin is buried in the Ennis
Cemetary. Had he taken on the father's name
all the rest of us would have been Ennis.
I would be interested in having a list of the
Whitmans buried there. I have the names of
the Ennis. Your help would be greatly
appreciated.
