Edward Ennis, Ireland to Texas

I am looking for information about my great-grandfather, Edward Ennis, born around 1860 +/- in Ireland. Ended up in Texas, married Susan Bruner, born about 1867 in Texas. Together they had 3 children, Myrtle, born about 1888, Bertha Jewel, born 1890, and Edward Ennis, born after 1891. He and the family followed the cattle drives throughout Texas. He supposedly left the country under suspicious circumstances, settling in Jamaica where he had a sugar plantation and named a hotel in Kingston, the Hotel Myrtle. After a trip to the US, he reportedly drowned when the ship sank in the Caribbean on its return to Jamaica. I cannot find any records of any kind on Edward. I have a feeling he didn't want to be found!
I have the Bruner family history, but no one has any information on Edward Ennis.
Can you help? Thanks.

Judy Walker
