Hi Jennifer

After reading your message, I am sure we are talking about the same Walter Ennis.

Some of the data you listed is correct.
Walter Ennis, born 1803, married Nancy Monds (Munns). They had several children. One you listed, Henry, is Neil Henry, who was born in 1846 and died in 1854. Walter and Nancy had four sons to serve in the Civil War, Calvin being one of those. Another of those sons, a younger one, is Junius Hinton Ennis.

Junius Hinton Ennis (not Henry) married Mary A. Neighbors, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John S. Neighbors. Dr. Neighbors was in the N.C. militia and practiced medicine during the Civil War era. Of his children, William L. went by Lesker, and Jenadius "Nady." There were two more children, Roena, and Junius Benton (J.B.)

Jennifer, I live beside the cemetery where Alonzo and Almira are buried. When I was a child, I loved for Aunt Almira to visit my grandmother, Roena, who lived with us. Aunt Almira always brought chewing gum and shared with us. You are right, there are two children's graves. I checked my family charts and realize I have not recorded their names. I will get those and email them to you.

Calvin Ennis moved away and I don't know his spouse's name either. He was killed in the Civil War in South Carolina. He had two daughters, Madlena and Molly who moved to their grandfather, Walter's after their mother's death when Molly was 12. Madlene "Maddie" married Lamm Suggs. Maddie was the neighborhood midwife. Maddie and Lamm had three children. Her sister, Molly, married James Elmond Stewart, and after his death, she ran the hotel in Coats. Molly and James Elmond are buried beside Nady and Alonzo's family. Molly & James Elmond had several children.

Walter Ennis, patriach of the family, also had a grandson named Walter Ennis who married Stella Sorrell.

I have lots of family history I will be glad to give to you.

Becky Adams
