Patty, Can you cite your proofs for Generation No. 4, No. 10. William Silverthorne? I am especially interested in v. Guilford Silverthorne, born Abt. 1675 in Guilford Creek, Accomack, Virginia....I have information that he was here in Hyde County, NC by 1712, married Jane Jacob, daughter of Isaac Jacob who died here in Hyde circa 1714/15. Jane Jacob Silverthorn was widowed circa 1737/38 here in Hyde and almost immediately began deeding her children property: John Silverthorn, son; William Inlows, son-in-law, and Mary, his wife, my daughter, and their children, my grandchildren, Abraham, John and Elizabeth Inlows; Sebastian Silverthorn, son. John Silverthorn and wife, Sarah, were the parents of Jane and Sebastin by 1752. Jane Jacob Silverthorn married John Avery circa 1738 after death of Guilford Silverthorn. Avery died in Hyde County 1740; he and Jane had no children. Jane married again to William Caron who died circa 1761. In 1762 Jane Caron sold her right of dower to 480 acres to Cornelius Bell. In May 1765 Jane Caron gave to (Grandson) Abraham Inloes all her goods, rights, chattels, credits or personal estate that she had or should hereafter possess. In exchange she was to receive a sufficient and reasonable support and maintenance that she would not want the common necessarys of life.
This is so important to my group of researchers as we are preparing a book on Governor Thomas Jarvis (dc 1694), the first Governor of NC, and she was sister-in-law to his grandson, Foster Jarvis, Jr who acted as co-executor of John Avery's LW&T and received a small bequest. We need documentation. I have tried using the internet to find the marriage of Guilford to Jane in Accomack Co, VA - no luck. Can you assist us?
