Could your family be related to my father? Nicholas Thomas Englert, born Dec. 19, 1905 in Bavaria. He passed away March 30, 1957. I do not believe my father had any relatives here in Toronto, Canada. I was only 10 when he passed away. I am now 54. My mother was Ann. I have no information on any of my father's family. Possibly we are related, your family was from Bavaria, is that correct? My father and mother were seperated at the time of my father's death. I lived with my father. He was man of short stature, small boned, blue eyed and thinning hair of medium brown colour, very gentle and kind. I believe he was a butcher in Germany, and not a good one..he had a part of a finger missing! He had a tatoo on his upper arm of a sword and a snake and if I remember correctly, there was either a name or initials on the tatoo. In Canada he worked for Acme Paper. I remember him saying he raced bikes in Germany. He had a shaving brush that he won racing. I do not know when he came to Canada. I do remember that he wrote letters to someone, but he did not share them with me, I was too young. He did not teach me German, which I regret. I am not sure, but I think his second name was Thomas. Could we be related?? Please respond. Thank you for your time.
