My grandfather was from Austria. His name was David Engler. His parents names were Bertha and Izaak. I don't know when they came to the U.S. but it was when David was young in the early 1900's. I believe he had 7 brothers and sisters. He lived in New York all of his life and was an attorney. I never did meet him, or any of his family, due to his divorce from my grandmother when my father was 3. We are Jewish Englers. We have just recently found my father's half-brother, Elliott Engler. This was very exciting to us because we have a very small family. One thing I did learn after talking to Elliott. My great grandfather was a banker in Austria and actually funded the construction of the Vienna-Budapest railroad. Hope this info is helpful to you.
