Your husbands grandfather is my grandfathers brother.

I have run across some Engledows from England, mainly. There may also be some that came from Ireland and/or Germany.

I found a couple of Engledows that came across the water from England and Australia. They were listed on two different ships as part of the crew. I found them on the Ellis Island web site.

I have also heard a story that there was a William Engledow that came to England to Virginia as an indentured servant. I was told he was sentenced for armed robbery. I will have to check my records to see about that.

I was recently told that there was a William R. Engledow born in Virgina around 1800 and later moved to Indiana.

Hope that helps some.
