Many thanks for the great website. I was aware of why they all were called Hessians but learned much from the website. The Engelbrecht listed is some distant relation of my in Ober Franken, Germany. I just came from this area and had met several historians one of who questioned me about why THEIR soldiers were called Hessens! I am hot buttoning this site to him!
