Hi

I had a look for a William birth in Wiltshire BMD you have probable done the same and there is none that I can find, I had a look 1871 trying to find William with a father John and a Wiltshire connection found the one below but Williams age is out, This john was a farm lab. did it say on Williams marriage cert what his fathers occupation was and if he was deceased. The only thing i can think is that John died and his wife remarried her children taking on the new husbands surname

1871
Address: Holcombe, Middle, East Teignmouth, Teignmouth

VALLANCE, John Head M 46 1825 Devon farm lab.

VALLANCE, Emma Daughter F 8 1863 Devon
VALLANCE, Henry Son M 6 1865 Devon
VALLANCE, George Son M 4 1867 Devon
