I didn't get any notice that somebody had responded, just happened to check the site out. You said you are researching the Fricknall (Frecknall) line. Who is your ancestor? I've come across some new info on them in recent weeks, have my tree on Ancestry.com. Martha Patience Frecknell was my gg grandmother, the name spelled several different ways. She always went by Patience while in England, but Martha after coming to America. I don't know what to think of the Feb. 5, 1808 christening record. I had wondered if she might have had a sister by that name who died, & the name was used again. That was common in the Fricknall family, but find no cemetery record. Her age seems to be all over the place, little agreement in records. Her obit & funeral card say she was born Feb. 11, 1811, while her tombstone has Feb. 14, 1811. Census records have her born later than 1811. She either didn't know how old she was, or lied about it. Her husband William Leeson was born Nov. 22, 1814 in Southwell, Nottinghamshire. He died May 25, 1899 in Clarke Co. Iowa. Perhaps she lied about her age as she would have been 6 years older than her husband if she was born in 1808, which might not have gone over so well in those days.

From what I can make out Martha's parents David & Ann Richardson Fricknall had 9 children, one of whom, Sarah, died as an infant, another, Thomas, as a young child. The 7 living to adulthood were Mary born about 1796, married John Turner, John born about 1798, married Rosamond Kendall, Elizabeth born about 1799, married James Phillip Beecher, Sarah born about 1801, married William Shipley, Frances born about 1803, Henry born 1804, married Ann Turner, & my Martha Patience who married William Leeson April 23, 1839 at Southwell. Frances married a man named Charlie, but have been told he used different last names.

I can give you more info on my line if you need it. I also have some info on David Fricknall's parents David & Elizabeth Burkitt who married Nov. 22, 1763 in Caunton. From what I've found David was their only son to reach adulthood. They had a son David who died in 1771 at age 5, & a son Samuel who died in 1772 at age 3. I show them with 2 daughters Elizabeth born 1764, & Ann born 1775, but have nothing more on them.
