Sarah Jane Palfree/Palfrey death registration,please.

Sarah Jane was a widow aged 57 in Derby in the 1901 census. I have trawled through and cannot find her up to 1940 when she would have been 96 or 97.She had family in the Nottingham area and could have died there.
Also her husband John died between 1891 and 1901 in either Derby or Nottingham.No trace,again.
Anyone who can look up local records if possible,I would appreciate as I live in Dorset.
