Hi David, Many, many thanks for all of your work here! Although I had some of the materials already, you did find some things I did not have. I am beginning ot think that maybe William, Jr. had already moved away from the area and maybe even England by the 1841 census. He came to America at some point, but I do not know when. His younger brother George was in New York City by 1844. I would think the two brothers would have traveled together, but maybe William went early to scout out the best places to settle. I would guess that Charlotte or Lottie as she was sometimes called just got missed by the census taker when he transcribed the schedule as you described. The enumerator seems very confused when you look at the way he listed the Wild family in the 1841 census: The parents on one page and three of the children on another under a different head of household and then crossing it all out. He must have had difficulty in reading the schedules submitted by William Wild. I did find the William Rawson marriage for Charlotte and it appears that Jarvis married a Rawson's sister by the name of Mary. I have frequently found that obtaining a microfilm of the original parish records will yield much more information than relying on the LDS WEB site, particularly burials. Free BMD can be very confusing, especially for marriages where you sometimes have to guess which person married the person you are interested in. I will never understand how the quarterly indexes were devised--It does not take any more work to note the actual date of the event or the persons involved than it does to take notice of what quarter of the year it occurred and jumbling all the persons together. I will be getting the LDS films shortly and if anything new comes up, I will let you know. Again, my thanks for your very generaous research time on my behalf.
