Hello Claire,
Don't know if you have ome across the Free Reg site but that is based on transcriptions of parish records, it is still growing as people add records but is really useful and worth watching- http://freereg.rootsweb.com/cgi/Search.pl
That shows a Matthew baptised Wells 11/07/1781 son of John and Martha and Matthew baptised 8/10/1779 son of William and Anne.
