Just posting a request for any further details on James Matthew Scott, who married Mary Ann Howes. He was b. 4 Apr 1824 in Runham, Norfolk, England; d. 6 Nov 1869 at Beed's Mill, near Hampton, Franklin Co., Iowa. Mary was b. 1831 in England and d. 1902 in Hampton, Franklin Co., Iowa. James' father was Richard Scott, mother's name unknown. Mary's father was Benjamin Howes, mother's name unknown. All were from Runham in Norfolk County. James was a miller. James also had a younger brother, Thomas S. Scott, b. 1830 in England; d. 1899 in Iowa. James emigrated to America in 1853, entering through New York City and first settling in Batavia, Illinois. In 1857 the family moved to Franklin County, Iowa, so James could take on the management/operations of a mill at Beed's Lake, near Hampton. James and Mary Ann had nine children, six of whom survived into adulthood. We have the church membership transfer of James Matthew Scott from his church in Runham to their church in Batavia. Any additional information and/or family connections would be greatly appreciated.

(*waves from Acworth, Georgia, USA*)
