I now have an official Marriage certificate for my Grandmother, Jessie Seery. She married my Granfather John William Ryan, he was Born in Darlington in 1880. His parents were,Kate Ryan and John Ryan, born in Ireland, but I do not know their place of birth in Ireland. His family are listed in the 1881 census as living in 62 Prescott Street, Darlington, Durham England. His Mother Kate was 35 years and his Father John Ryan was AGED 36. They had older children. Their ages and names as given in the 1881 census were: Patrick R Ryan aged 6 , Margaret A Ryan aged 4 , Mackel Ryan, Possibbly Micheal age 2, and lastly my Grandfather John William Ryan aged 2 months. There were possibly more children born after 1881. John Willam Ryan my Grandfather married Jessie Seery on 17/08/1904. The Father's names were given as William Ryan, a mistake I think ,by the registrar as he was listed in the 1881 census as John Ryan occupation Engine Man . My Grandfather, Jessie's husband ,was given as John Ryan a Ship plater of 7 Seaham Street , Stockon ON Tees. Jessie Seery's Father was given as Wiliam Seery, of Stockton On Tees, living at 53, Bath Lane, Stockton on Tees occupation Bricklayer. The couple Jessie Seery and John Ryan were married at, ST Mary's Chapel, according to the Rites and ceromonies of the Roman Catholic Church. The Priest was Robert Taylerson R/C priest. William Cairns Registrar. They were Married in the Presence of William Bernard Tingle , and Margaret Anne Ryan . Margaret Anne Ryan, was the Margaret A Ryan mentioned in the 1881 census and elder sister of the Groom ,my Grandfather, John Ryan mentioned in the 1881 census. She eventually married The other person Present William Bernard Tingle. I have now found the 1881 census entry for my Grandmother Jessie Seery . The entry was made under the name Sury but in all other legal documentation it was given as Seery. Someone must have spelled it phonetically. The 1881 census gives her Father as Wiliam Seery aged 25,a Bricklayer ,address 30 Hill Street, Stockton, from Ainderby Steeple in the North Riding of Yorkshire.Mother, Mary Seery, aged 27 From Stockton on Tees. Mary Seery's name was formerly Mary Ainsworth. Supposedly again from Stockton On Tees. Jeesie Seery my Grandmother was listed as a daughter aged three. They again probably had more children after 1881 but I do not know when and whom. I also have a birth certificate for my Grandmother, Jeesie Seery. She was born 14/11/1877.William Seery, Married my Great Grandmother, Mary Seery formerly Ainsworth, in the September Quarter of 1877. I do not have a birth Certificate for Mary Seery Formerly Ainsworth or a marriage certificate for William Seery And Mary Ainsworth. However the marriage is listed on the Ancestry .com free BMD site. Also William Seery's Birth in 1856 in Ainderby Steeple North Riding of Yorkshire is registered in Northallerton in 1856 is in the free BMD listing in Ancestry.com . If you can disipher all this information and feel you have any connection or can give me any more information about any of these people please contact me.
