Alex,
I hope you did not think I was being rude or anything like that in my note back to you. I do really appreciate you taking the time to break off these 7 children as possibly one of the Willam Woods & Mary families.
Of course I noticed that you had Henry Woods christened 19 Feb 1804 in Godalming, Surrey, England father: William Woods mother: Mary
Henry Woods is my husband's 3rd great grandfather. He married Ann Tickner christened 30 Oct 1803 in Godalming, Surrey, England father: Henry Tickner mother: Sarah Sweatman.
I know that Henry Woods was a Cordwainer (shoemaker). I have the 1841, 1851 & 1861 Census for him and his family. Their son James Tickner Woods christened 13 Nov 1831 in Godalming, Surrey, England (name on record is simply James, but he either had the middle name or added it himself to his name). He is my husband's 2nd great grandfather. James Tickner Woods immigrated to America in 1854 aboard the ship Windermere. His futher wife was also on this ship. Her name is Annie Chandler christened 20 Aug 1837 in Godalming, Surrey, England father George William Chandler mother: Ann Andrews.
I have not been able to pin down an exact death date for Henry Woods but agree with you that it was after the 1861 census and before the 1871 census. I also do not have a death date for Ann Tickner Woods.
I hope this gives you a little background information on my Husband's family. His grandmother did much of the research we have, but was dead ended at the same place.
Thanks again for your reply and you have given me something to think about with these 7 children you list as possible siblings and parents William Woods & Mary still unknown. I have not been able to find any marriage record for them or birth records.
I assume that you live in England. Do you live in the Godalming, Surrey area?
My Best,
Debbie
