Thanks for the reply. Thanks for looking this up. I will see what I can do about a possible photocopy of the marriage record for Rose and the William Cox she married. I am curious if you know if a widower could also be called a bachelor in those days, since he did not have a wife. The meanings of terms change over time. Originally I (and fellow researchers) thought the William Cox who married Hannah Comley died the same year as Hannah, in 1788, and there is a record of a William Cox dying that year in October of 1788, whereas Hannah died in May 1788. He ws not a non-conformist though. The family was Catholic and apparently connected to the parish of the wealthy Throckmorton family. thanks again...and its back to the drawing board for me.
