Hi Cindy,
As I posted three years ago, William's parents were Cornelia/Cornealia/Cornalia HOOKER, baptised on 29 July 1784 at Luton, married William YOUNG on 26 April 1803 at Luton. William was buried on 2 April 1824 at Luton aged 46. Can’t trace her death in England – could she have emigrated with her son to the USA?Last seen in England in 1851.
His grandparents, parents of Cornelia, were Mary DAY baptised on 23 Jan 1757 at St Michael, St Albans, Herts who married Richard HOOKER of Redbourne on 14 Oct 1777 at St Michael, St Albans, Herts. Mary was buried on 5 Jan 1830 at Luton aged 73. Richard was buried on 30 July 1793 at Luton.
As we wrote back in 2009 William Young could be one of two William Youngs baptised in Luton in 1777:
William Young baptised 26 Jan 1777 son of Thomas Young & Elizabeth
or
William Young baptised 19 May 1777 son of William Young & Mary Robinson.
As there were no burials of a William Young in the period 1777 to 1823, nor any marriages other than to Cornelia Hooker, we couldn't separate the two Williams, other than possibly applying traditional naming patterns, as William and Cornelia's first son was William and their first daughter Mary. But that's flimsy evidence in the absence of anything more substantial.
