Thanks, Kathleen, for all of this info.The oversight was mine :I was using the 1910 which shows Thomas at age 15 and the parents married for 16 years.
But you've hit the problems directly:The 1900 shows immigration at 1881, while the later 1910 shows immigration at 1868 , a great confusion.
Similarly, the NY 1892 shows birth of Samuel as 1847 while the later Federal 1900 shows birth as 1856, and the still-later 1910 indicates the original 1847 birth.
I think the 1868 immigration is too early for Samuel of Rochester, NY;there is an earlier Samuel AXON at Philadelphia on the 1880 Federal, but born about 1831 and having a wife Sarah-in the U.S. by 1863 .
I'd like to uncover the Marriage, probably in England, for Samuel AXON, born 1847, who later was at Rochester, NY, for over 30 years .Thanks, once again .
