Yes, but
a) John and Jane are very common names. Such a couple could be found in many different generations.
b) You're looking at a computer record with no knowledge of what is in the primary source evidence and what has been assumed by a researcher.
It is likely that parents John and Jane are mentioned in the baptism record 1688. Though often, at this period, only fathers' names were recorded in the parish register.
It is MUCH LESS LIKELY that both parents names would be on a marriage or burial record at this period of time, so I am immediately a little suspicious of the other Gilbert Burrington record. That data may indeed be in the records, or it may be that a researcher has cobbled together informationfrom several different sources, making certain assumptions. Which may be correct assumptions. Or may not be.
You need to regard computer records such as IGI as pointers and clues only. They are NOT evidence of anything. You need to check accuracy for yourself by looking at copies of primary source records (E.g. parish registers). Some of these have been microfilmed by LDS and are available at their Family History Centres. Otherwise you neeed to contact the local Record Offices/Archives.
For the whereabouts of parish records for places in the U.K. the best place to start is the GENUKI website.
