Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, this is the correct family. It's not surprising Cornelius couldn't be found.For years he's been elusive!!!
I understand if you were a freeman,you were able to vote.If this is correct, do you know if there are any post 1867 voter registration records? Possibly this may show when/if he voted and where he lived,although it doesn't explain no marriage or death record.
Since he was listed as a cabinet maker in 1866 Chester,would there be trade or postal directories from that time onward?
Could he have emmigrated from England between 1867 - 1871? Are records available? Could he have been deported,in military service and buried in another country ?
As you can see,I'm grasping at straws and don't know where to look next.
