Hi,
Much against my instincts have done what Ian suggested,I don't like making what could be a rash judgement.Still the following is one I found on the 1851 census.
Newton Abbot workhouse.
Mary Ann bray 34 U/M born West Teignmouth devon
James Henry 12 East Teingmouth Devon
William 7 born Wolborough Devon
William does not appear to be on the 1861 census and I think his mother Mary Ann married in 1857 James Clements.I don't know how you will prove he is yours????
