Thanks for your response. At long last I feel that I have located my relative. I have checked the Old Bailey records, also records of ships and convicts and find that the details essentially fit my criteria, except for the usual minor date and age variations. Main thing was to establish a Winchester connection. Should you come by any further information, I would be delighted to hear from you again.
