Thank you. The reason behind my thinking she was born in Tombridge Wells is because I found a Charlotte M. Bates, age 24, working as a house servant in the 1851 England Census for Chelsea, England. The census listed her place of birth as Tombridge Wells, Kent, England.
Do you know of a way I could find marriage records for the mid 1800s? She was married 24 Apr 1854 at St. Mary's Parish, Lambeth, Surrey, England. Perhaps the record would show both parents.
