Thank you for your reply. While I don't know for sure, I imagine you are correct in saying she preferred the less Germanic sounding name of Louisa. There was no suggestion she married again after being widowed, although I could be wrong. Her first child, born in 1892, was also called Louisa which may account for the Louisa Rouse you have seen in the marriage index. I hope one day another branch of the family may see this and get in touch. Once again, many thanks for taking the trouble to look.
