I am seeking information on my GGGrandfather Thomas SPENCE who was born in Co Down Ireland to John and Jane SPENCE in 1852 and he died in Manchester UK in 1909.
He was a house painter and married Ann ROBINSON (1853-1901)in 1876 in Manchester and they had 6 children all born in Salford, Lancashire UK.
Jane 1877-1883, Thomas 1878-1883, Florence 1880-1883 all three died within days of each other from Scarlet fever. They then had Charles Michael 1884-1963, Florence b1886 and Margaret b1889.
It is thought that Thomas had at least one brother who migrated to Canada in the mid 1870's and another who migrated to Canada or the USA around 1880.
Thomas had his cousin Thomas FOLEY b1843 in Co Down Ireland who was also a house painter living with him in Manchester in 1891.
I would be delighted to hear from anyone who has any information on these families or who has them in their tree.
