Camplin Surname in Great Carlton, 1813
Posted by: Frederick Camplin (ID *****8910) Date: December 17, 2002 at 14:03:15
  of 1878

My great great grandparents were John Camplin and Mary Richardson. He was christened in Great Carlton on April 12, 1813. She was christened in Tetford on February 21, 1815. They were married in Tetford about 1834. One of the children reported to be of this marriage is an Isaac Camplin or Campling. The chrisening date I was given was August 31, 1836 in Tetford. I would like to know if Isaac's parents were John and Mary.

Also, I suspect the Camplin family that lived in Great Carlton when John was born may be related to the Camplin or Campling families that resided in Theddlethorpe. Would the parish records of those two towns shed any light on this possibility.

Frederick Camplin
