Jesse Adair

Seeking help locating the burial place for an ancestor that we know as "Jesse" Adair. The Gentlemen's Magazine ran an obituary notice for him in the Aug. 1797 edition that states: Aged 66,Jesse Adair, esq. of Lincoln, late a Captain in the Army.
Can someone help "direct" me to Church's etc that were in existence c1797 in the Lincoln area. "Jesse" was a nickname for this relative and I am hoping someone may have come across a gravestone that will have a Captain ?? Adair being buried c1797 near Lincoln. Thanks for your time and hope someone can help solve this ongoing mystery!
