My Whiting line descends from John Whiting, born about 1561 in Boston, Lincolnshire, UK, died 20 Oct 1617, and was buried 22 Oct 1617 in the cemetery of St. Botolph's Church in Boston. Some sources say his wife was Margaret Bonner (1566-1601/2) and that the two were married 22 Dec 1586 in Boston. Other sources say he was married to a Sarah Smith (1569-1649).
So far, my research indicates that John Whiting and Margaret Bonner had seven children:
Isabel Whiting, born 10 Dec 1587
Audrey Whiting, born 28 Sep 1589
Andrew Whiting, born 28 Sep 1589
John Whiting, born 4 Jun 1592
Margaret Whiting, born 4 Aug 1594
Samuel Whiting, born 20 Nov 1597
James Whiting, born 21 Aug 1599
Can anyone provide a reliable source as to whether Margaret Bonner was the mother of John Whiting's children? And who were John Whiting's parents? I am particularly interested in the ancestry of Samuel Whiting, John's son who emigrated as a Puritan preacher to the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
