I found your posting requesting information about George Coulby Thistlewood (11/1/1855, Lincolnshire, England, d. 8/23/1916 in Oglethorpe County, GA). He was my Great-great-grandfather. His daughter, Gertrude Irene (b. 2/25/1894, d. 10/21/1949) married Vasco Columbus Rhoden (b. 7/19/1889, d. 7/1974 I think, I need to check with my father). Their children were Vasco Columbus Rhoden, Jr (b. 7/16/1921) and George Fred Rhoden (b. 2/25/1917, d. 9/27/1987). They adopted a daughter, Margaret Elizabeth. My father is V C. Rhoden, Jr. My name is Ronda June (b. 6/21/1951), Jo Lynn (b. 6/21/1952), Kenneth Shawn (b. 11/12/1955), and Carla Renee (b. 9/8/1958).

I'd like to trace the Rhodens back to England which is where I understand they originally came from. I've traced back to William R. S. Rhoden (b. 1750 in Barnwell County, SC) and his father was Thomas Rhoden and I don't know his date of birth nor birthplace. Thomas is 7th generation upline from Vasco Rhoden and Gertrude Thistlewood.

Ronda J. rhoden
