I don't know if you have access to HeritageQuest, but the Memoir of Samuel Whiting, DD is on it and the author cites the will of John Whiting of Boston. He names his wife Isabel; sons Samuel (who he wanted to continue at Cambridge); John, and James; daughters, Margaret who married Richard Carter; and Audry who married Robert Wright. He also had a daughter Isabel who died young.

FamilySearch has a William Whiting who married a Margaret and had William 4 Jun 1602 in Boston. Perhaps this is the Margaret referred to? I believe this MIGHT be the William Whiting who also went to Boston, Mass, and ended up in Connecticut. Although no one that I know of has made a connection between the two American families, I think it's probable that the line of William Whiting and Rev. Samuel Whiting is related--maybe cousins. both families have many ministers in them.

I hope the above-cited will helps. I didn't write down the page number as I am a descendant of William Whiting, not Samuel. But I remembered it. G
