Is anyone else researching Palmer families who came from Loughborough, Leicestershire? My 3X great grandfather was a William Palmer born at Loughborough, Leicestershire about 1821-1822, married to Frances Elizabeth Hitchcock Eagle in 1844. They had six sons and one daughter. I descend from their son Philip Henry Palmer born 1859 at Nottingham; he became a civil engineer and lived at London and then at Brighton, Sussex and Hastings, Sussex and later at St. Leonards On Sea. I have reason to believe that my William Palmer's father was another William born about 1796 at same place, wife Elizabeth Martin, Mortin or Morton; they had at least ten children: William Palmer born 1821 (believe this is my ancestor) Frances Mortin Palmer born 1823 married Harriet LOMAX, at least 3 children Elizabeth Ann Palmer born 1825 married William Solomon Woodroffe, 3 daughters Frederick Palmer born abt. 1826, Ann Palmer born 1829 Mary Palmer born 1830 Henry William Palmer born 1832 married Fanny Brittlebank (her second husband, her first was Henry's brother Arthur Frank Palmer); Henry and Fanny had at least 2 sons, 2 daughters Sarah Palmer born 1840 Albert Frank Palmer born 1844, married Fanny Brittlebank, he died 1872; he was a solicitor; she re-married to Albert's older brother Henry Palmer Robert Frederick Palmer born 1846, married a woman named Elizabeth and lived at Derbyshire. Would love to correspond with anyone who has info or who is related to these Palmer's. My ancestor William Palmer stated his father was William Palmer, a grocer, on his marriage reg. in year 1844.
