Well done again, William.
I have noticed as well the confusion regarding this individuals marital partner. The census reports provided by Gordon Beavington also brings this anomoly up. Jane is indicated as the spouse of Thomas SPENCER in 1881, 1871 & 1861, but in 1851 Susan is the name of his spouse. What makes this even more confusing, without sight of individuals birth cert. is information given in press reports ralating to the death of my Grandfather, Charles SPENCER in 1915 at Gallipoli, that his parents are stated as Thomas & Mary SPENCER. This could of course be a typo but there is no way of telling. In addition there is no record of a birth for Charles which only reinforces the family rumour that he may have been adopted. Only time and further inquiries will tell. I now as a certainty that Salperton was his home, and where he was raised, as his wife indicated this fact to another relative when being driven in the area. Only 1 SPENCER family is indicated as living in that area and only one with a child named Charles.

Tnx again for your efforts and the information relating to William is most welcomed. I will persue this branch further.
