In Reply to: Baptism Records 1836 to 1841 = LONGSTAFF? by ALLAN LONGSTAFF of 2282

Auckland St. Andrew baptisms:

John Langstaff born 5 Oct 1810 baptised 31 Oct 1810 2nd son of Michael Langstaff of Bishop Auckland, native of ?, Cooper, by his wife Mary Dawson native of Heighington

1841 census: HO107/307/9 folio 11 page 15 and 16

Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland
John Longstaff, 30, painter, Y
Mary Longstaff, 25, Y
Margaret Longstaff, 4, Y
Mary Longstaff, 2, Y
Henry Longstaff 1 month, Y

farther down the page-one family in between

Michael Longstaff, 60, Innkeeper, Y
Mary Longstaff, 55, Y
James Longstaff, 20, Cooper Journeyman, Y
Thomas Longstaff, 15, Currier Apprentice, Y
Ann Longstaff, 15, Y

I think the 1st son was George born 7 Dec 1807, baptised 21 Mar 1808 but no place of nativitiy for the father Michael in this one. "Na of" was crossed out.

There was a daughter Mary born 30 Aug 1812 baptised 25 Sept 1812, 2nd daur of Michael, Bishop Auckland, Cooper, native of Bishop Auckland by his wife Mary Dawson native of Killerby

I did find a Mary Todd (St. Andrew)born 29 Dec 1810, baptised 12 Jan 1811 2nd daur of Christopher Todd of Byers Green, native of Nutty Hagg by his wife Ann Apredile? native of Bishop Auckland

Auckland St. Andrew: Margaret Longstaff baptised 28 Aug 1836 d/o John and Mary, Auckland, Painter

Henry Longstaff baptised 2 Aug 1841 s/o John and Mary, Bp Auckland, Painter

That's all about I have time for right now

You can find these entries on the Bishop's Transcripts
