The 1851 Census for Caundle Marsh, Dorset, has Jemima's place of birth as Stalbridge, and her age as 36. That puts her birth as 1814/1815. In the Stalbridge Baptism register, there's a Jemima Brown baptised on 10th April 1814, the Baseborn daughter of Anne Jeans, Spinster. (The father's name is not given in the Baptism register entry) As the dates concur, it seems very likely that these references refer to the same Jemima Brown. I am descended from them by Jemima's daughter Sarah's marriage to George Knight of Bishops Caundle.
