Fowlers of Shebbear and Newton St. Petrock

Looking to obtain/share information about the Fowler families of Newton St. Petrock, Shebbear and Buckland Brewer, Devon, England. I descend from William (1798-1878) and Margaret (1800-1856) Fowler, who emigrated to Oxford County, Canada about 1854. It is believed that William's brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Penhale Fowler also emigrated to this location.

William and James were the children of William and Mary Fowler; other siblings were George, Mary, John, Leonard, Andrew and Rebecca - these were all apparently family names. The generation of William and James were born in Shebbear, although prior generations of Fowlers were apparently born in Newton St. Petrock, which is likely the family's ancestral home.

It is believed that Margaret's maiden name was Stapleton, and that she was born in Tawstock. William and Margaret lived in Merton (Yeory Farm) and Buckland Brewer (either Galsworthy or Tithecott) before emigrating. They were likely married in Shebbear. I descend from their daughter, Rebecca Fowler Sypher.
