William England 1786 Burke Co., North Carolina

Trying to isolate the Willaim England who came into possesion of a new born girl, Hannah in 1786. The indenture document is dated and was filed on May 20, 1786--however there is no place or officiators name on the record.

We know that a William England was in Burke County in April of 1786 when a land warrant was issued to him for 100 acres on Camp Creek, and where he signed a bond for William Gray. We can only assume that this is the William who died in 1801. Others who were involved in the indenture, Robert Hargrave and James McMahan were also in Burke Co., during that same time period.

Who was the William England in Burke in 1786, and who was his wife? Why would they have taken in a new born child, unless she was a relative, child of a relative or friend? Were there other William Englands who were adults in 1786? Is there some connection between the Englands of Burke and the Englands of Surry Co., NC.? Who was the first William England to push into Kentucky and when and where did he settle?

Thanks for any help, Hannah, the indentured child is our ancestor and interest.
