I can't remember if I've posted in this forum before, but here goes. Well, maybe I have, because I think I remember either my mother (Judy Engeldinger Massingham) or Dolly remarking that they are cousins.
Anyway, I too have been searching for info on the highly elusive Engeldinger clan. My grandpa is ill and I would like to surprise him if at all possible (almost all the info I've found so far has been on my grandmother's side). Here's the information I have:
Peter Engeldinger was born 5/22/1855 in Germany. He and Elizabeth Zinsli had 9 children that I know of: Benjamin Peter (my great grandfather); Agnes Julia; Rosa Mary; Gertruth Ellernora; Elizabeth; Suzie; Alvin; Andy; and Baby Engeldinger. This is not in birth order. I have no information on Elizabeth Zinsli.
Benjamin married Nellie Swartz (Schwartz?) and they had 8 children: Darold (my grandfather, the oldest); Doris; Bobby; Darlene; Raymond; Fern; Junior; and Linda. I haven't gotten much information on my grandpa's siblings or their families yet. Also, I think there were about 3 babies that were miscarried, stillborn, or died shortly after birth.
That's all I can find for the time being. I think my next course of action will be to send letters to all the Engeldingers my grandparents have addresses for to ask for info, anecdotes, and other memories they might have or info of their own they've discovered to fill in some blank spaces.
I hope this may be of some help, and I haven't just wasted people's time!
