I am searching for information regarding my ENGELS ancestors. Any connections and data appreciated.
My great grandfather, JACOB AUGUST ENGELS was born in Nickelswalde (near Berlin) Prussia in 1839 or 40. He immigrated to New York City, where he was naturalized on August 25, 1884.
His parents were Martin Engels and Caroline Krause.
He married ELIZABETH KLENCK on 10/18/1868 in NYC.
They had at least one child, my grandfather, WILLIAM AUGUST ENGELS. Born April 1, 1874 in NYC. Died April 24, 1942, in New Haven, Connecticut, and (I believe) a daughter called JULIA, born around 1870.
William August Engels married: MINNIE RAUCHFUSS (I also have her ancestors (born in Prussia and Bavaria) and grandparents (born in Germany). She was born Feb 25, 1873, in NYC. Died August 2, 1922, in New Haven, CN.
William married EMMA LEYKAUF after Minnie's passing.
