Hi! I have been helping one of my aunts with her family genealogy and she is related to the Engbard family. Amazingly, her mother was Minnie Engbard; grandfather was Carl Engbard; and great grandpa was Conrad Engbard. Conrad was born in Germany in 1831 and immigrated around 1850-1854, settled in Pennsylvania for 5 years, then resettled to Minnesota where he lived in Winona for a few years, later moving to Havana township, Steele county, Minnesota where he farmed and raised his family. He died in 1911 on his farm. Havana township is near Claremont, Minnesota.
I located a Peter Ingbard immigrating to America 1854. He arrived in the United States on July 28, 1853 with a Catherina Ingbard. Peter was 24 and Catherina was 30. Don't know the relationship, but assume they were brother and sister as the records did not state that Catherina was a wife.
I would love to hear back from you. Maybe there is a connection between Conrad and Peter Engbard.
