His obit from the Muskogee (OK) Phoenix, 27 Oct 1892, p. 5, c. 2:
The not unexpected death of Albert A. ENGART occurred at the family residence in this city at precisely 12:20 o'clock p. m. on Tuesday. For the past few days prior to his death it was apparent to the friends in attendance and to the grief stricken family that his life could be prolonged but a short time at best. The end came peacefully and calmly and surrounded by loved ones the spirit of the brave patient who had suffered for weeks and months without murmur or complaint was freed from the mortal body and entered the life immortal.
Albert A. ENGART was born at Buchanan, VA July 11, 1854, and was consequently at the time of his death in his 38th year. In boyhood he attended the public schools in his native town and later entered the higher school at Blacksburg, VA where his education was completed. His father died while still Albert was a young boy and he was early thrown upon his own resources. He came west in 1873 and taught school for a while in Kansas and later in the Indian Territory. He was for a time employed in various capacities at Okmulgee and ultimately established himself at Muskogee and started the insurance agency which has grown and prospered under his guidance to great proportions within the past few years.
Mr. Engart was married December 18th, 1883, at Lynchburg, VA to Miss Rena PETTIGREW. Two bright little children, one five and one three years of age, are the results of this union. Mr. Engart's mother died about a year ago at the old home in VA. He has one brother and two sisters still living.
For the past dozen years, Mr. Engart has been identified with Muskogee. He was a true friend, a devoted husband and father and though a member of no church, or organization, he was a firm believer in the great principles of Holy Writ and his sympathies went out where suffering and sorrow was found and he freely gave of his means to assuage sorrow or relieve want. He was a careful and shrewd business man and an untiring worker, and the business institution which he founded and built up and maintained is a splendid witness of his ability as a man. It seems beyond the pale of human consistency that one, still young in years, surrounded by a happy family, just getting to a point where he can enjoy the fruit of his toils and labors, should be called from amongst the living. But there is wisdom in all the ways of the Lord. It is not ours to question. As there is rest to the loved one that has gone so there be comfort to the grief stricken ones that remain.
During his last illness Mr. Engart joined the Catholic church and his dying moments were cheered and comforted with a Christian's faith and a Christian's hope. The funeral services were held yesterday at 10 a.m. at the Catholic church,Rev. Father KETCHUM conducting the same. The remains were interred in the new cemetery east of the city.
