JAMES ENDSLEY was b. ca 1742 in PA or N. Ireland. I have never seen any authority cites as a source for this infor- mation. He d. before August 1777 when the sale of his estate was recorded in Surrey County, NC. JANE BLAIR ( Referred to as "JEAN" in her father's will and other early records) was b. 20 Aug 1746 at sea on the voyage from N. Ireland to America. Jane d. 21 Apr 1839 in Liberty Valley, Marshall County, Tennessee. After James Endsley's death, Jane m. 2nd, JOHN C. CUMMINGS before 9 Feb 1779. Children of James & Jane (Blair) Endsley were: 1. HUGH ENDSLEY. b. ca 1767 in Rowan County, NC m. Martha W. Cummings 22 Nov 1792 in Guilford Co, NC. d. 1833 in Wilson County, TN 2. JOHN ENDSLEY. b. 13 Aug 1769 in Rowan County, NC. m. Mary Blair [ a first cousin] 2 Mar 1797. d. 21 Sep 1828 in Liberty Valley, Bedford [Marshall after 1836] County, TN. 3. ANDREW ENDSLEY. b. ca. 1776 in Surrey County, NC. m. Sarah Elizabeth Lowry [a half sister to Mary Blair who m. Andrew's brother, John Endsley] in Abbeyville District, SC on 30 Sep 1806. Andrew d. shortly after 27 Oct 1816 in Stokes County, NC. 4. MARY ENDSLEY. Nothing further known. 5. JANE ENDSLEY. Nothing further known. Some researchers read this name as "JAMES" rather than "JANE". Children of JOHN C. CUMMINGS & JANE BLAIR (ENDSLEY) were: 1. THOMAS CUMMINGS. b. 15 May 1781. m. Isbella Lowry [sister of Sarah Elizabeth Lowry who m. Andrew Endsley and half sister to Mary Blair who m. John Endsley] on 30 Sep 1806 in Abbeyville District, SC; the same day that Andrew Endsley & Sarah Elizabeth Lowry married. 2. GEORGE WASHINGTON CUMMINGS. 3. SARAH CUMMINGS. m. Samuel McQuieston. They migrated to Bedford County, TN and later on to Ray County, MO. 4. JOHN BLAIR CUMMINGS. b. ca 1785. Moved to Bedford Co TN [Marshall County after 1836]. m. 1st a woman who may have been an Elizabeth Miller. They had two sons, Newton A. Cummings & George Washington Cummings. John B. Cummings m. 2nd Eunice Hunter, daughter of Robert and Rebecca [McNickle] Hunter. John B. & Eunice Cummings had one son, Thomas E. Cummings and then either divorced or separated [neither ever remarried]. John B. Cummings d. after 1861 probably in Marshall County, Tennessee. Notify Administrator about this message?
